Our Tree Removal Capabilities

At Blackhawk, we offer three main methods for safe, effective tree removal. The ideal method will be different for each unique tree, so we’ll be happy to discuss all of your options with you in detail, so you’ll know we’re using the right technique.

Removal by Felling

Felling is the most straightforward tree removal technique. All we do is make a few cuts at the base and bring the entire tree down in one piece. Felling has its limitations, however. It can only be used when there are no power lines, buildings, structures, or other trees around that would be affected, so we’ll only recommend felling if your site permits.

Manual Tree Removal

Manual tree removal involves cutting a standing tree into pieces using skilled climbers, ropes, and rigging. We start at the top and carefully lower each piece down to the ground. Manual removal is often the best method for removing trees that are too close to other trees and structures for felling to be safe. As with everything we do, safety is our highest priority when it comes to sectioning, so we follow strict safety procedures and adhere to all OSHA guidelines.

Removal by Crane

When felling and sectioning can’t be performed safely on a tree due to size, inaccessible location, or proximity to other structures or landscaping, we’ll recommend tree removal by crane. We’ll send an expert climber up the tree to secure a cable to the top portion, then cut and lift that section out by crane. Then, we repeat the process for each section below until the tree is fully removed.
