What is Crane-Assisted Tree Removal?

Crane-assisted tree removal is performed when a tree can’t be felled typically or sectioned off and removed manually. This service is useful for our commercial customers who find themselves in hard-to-access locations, like office parks and buildings that are close together on a corporate campus or in difficult-to-access backyards. Crane removal is also a good option for any trees whose size makes them impossible to remove via traditional methods.

What Is Crane-Assisted Tree Removal?

You may be wondering, “How do you go about tree removal with cranes?”

The answer is that we’ve been providing arborist services to the area for so long that we now have our tree removal process down to an exact science.

The process begins with us speaking with the property owner to determine the best area to accommodate our equipment. The area needs to be large enough and level to hold our crane.

After we’ve set the crane up and positioned our crew, the crane operator will lift our climber to the top of the tree where they’ll hook up their repelling and safety cables. Once our climber is safely in position, he’ll repel down the tree to the various predetermined cutting zones and make the necessary cuts. The crane operator then lifts the cut sections of the tree to the nearby landing area, where our ground crew will start in with their chainsaws. In many cases this will help minimize any impacts on the ground since the landing zone is often a driveway or street. Many people think that crane-assisted tree removal is a much costlier approach compared to manual removal, however the cost can be similar since the labor involved with a crane removal may be significantly less.
